Sad news this morning, permaculture teacher and author, Patrick Whitefield, died peacefully yesterday morning (27th February) at his home in Glastonbury, Somerset.
Patrick was only a year younger than me so this is especially sad, I’d hoped he be around and giving out his wisdom for many years to come but it’s not to be. He was one of the leading permaculture pioneers in Britain, and Europe, teaching at many places in Britain including Ragmans Lane Farm, Gloucestershire. His work with Andy Daw at Kingston Maurward College of Agriculture in Dorset enabled the permaculture design course to be a BTEC qualification which, in turn, enabled the creation of a nine week Sustainable Land Use course at Ragmans Lane accessible to those on income support.
Patrick will be very much missed …
